Here are some questions we often get! If your question isn’t answered here, shoot us an email!
YES! Unlike other
improv theaters in the city, the Clubhouse does not have its own school. We do
not teach our own method or have a specific approach. Instead, multiple
reputable schools operate out of the Clubhouse, so that you can take classes
with the program that makes the most sense for you. We have improv and stand up
classes for all levels. Whether you have completed other improv programs with
other places, or have never improvised before in your life, between the various
programs running at the Clubhouse, there is a class that is right for you.
Check out our classes page for info on all of the schools, and classes, and how to
sign up.
Nope. Come on in!
Sometimes when there are special events or fundraisers, tickets and
reservations are put into play, but usually, you can feel free to walk in and
check out any show you want, free of charge and without a reservation.
All shows at the
Clubhouse are free. We get by on your donations! Shows will usually have a suggested
donation amount. If you cannot afford that amount, donate what you can! We
hope you will come back to the Clubhouse again, so if you can’t give to one
show, try to give to the next! We want everyone to come enjoy shows
at the Clubhouse, any donation is greatly appreciated.
The Clubhouse has a
ton of shows, and all of their submission processes are different. To find out
how to sign up for a show, check out the show’s link in the calendar. The
information on how to submit for that show, should be included in their
description!
That depends! What
kind of show are you doing? Are you doing a rehearsal or teaching a class? How
many hours are you using? Which theater?
Here is a ballpark
estimate depending on times and days and which theater.
- Approx $20 an hour for rehearsal
- Approx $25 an hour for classes
- Between $35 and $50 an hour for shows depending on time/ date/ frequency.
If you are interested
in producing a show at the Clubhouse, please check out the “rentals” page.
There you can submit to do a one time show, or a recurring show. We do have a
waiting list for recurring shows, but if you are on the waiting lits you can
always email and find out how for down the list you are.
